Ölüdeniz is 128 km to Muğla and 12 km to Fethiye. The area was designated as a Natural Park in 1983 due to the beauty of the coastline, which is also renowned for its water-sports, the rare geological qualities and untouched flora and fauna.


Ölüdeniz is located in Fethiye district which is within the boundaries of Muğla Province.
There are regular coach services to Fethiye from all the big cities in Turkey. The nearest airport which is the Dalaman Airport is 55 km away. There are regular minibus (locally known as dolmush) runs from Fethiye to Ölüdeniz all year around, becoming more frequent during summer months.

The road leading to Ölüdeniz from Fethiye through pine trees is 14 km long. At the end of this hilly road a vast, fascinating blue appears before your eyes suddenly. Here is called the Belcekız Bay. When you walk along the beach to the left, you will see the heavenly Blue Lagoon (Ölüdeniz) attached. 

Air Travel

There are several international airports which are near to Ölüdeniz.

The nearest airport of Dalaman is only 45 min drive away. Dalaman airport is frequently served by Turkish Airlines and other major airlines all year around. Antalya airport (which is open all year around) is 2 and 1/2 hours drive from Ölüdeniz.

Sea Travel
Ölüdeniz is situated on the south west coast of Turkey. Although there isn’t a marina or a port on the beach of Ölüdeniz, the town of Fethiye which is only 20 miles has full marina and mooring facilities.

Besides Fethiye, Gocek and Marmaris are the other two ports which are near to Ölüdeniz. Both these ports have excellent marina and yachting facilities.

Ölüdeniz is only 60 miles away from the island of Rhodes. During the summer season there are daily ferryboat services from Rhodes to Fethiye and Marmaris.

Land Travel

Ölüdeniz is 15 km away from Fethiye, which is the nearest town. Fethiye is well served with most of the major bus companies within Turkey.

Pamukkale, Kamil Koc, Ulusoy, Metro are some of the major bus companies which have direct services from Istanbul, Izmir Ankara, Antalya and from most other big cities including the nearest province, Muğla. Inner city transportation is maintained by minibuses.
